Calcium Lignosulfonate is a light yellow to brown powder that is completely water soluble. It is an anionic surfactant with excellent dispersant properties. Calcium Lignosulfonate is an extract of wood and bamboo pulping processes. It is used in a wide variety of processes due to its cost efficiency, renewability and versatility.
Calcium Lignosulfonate is used as a foliar and soil fertiliser to increase nutrient absorption. It increases foliar surface activity and penetration of nutrients. Calcium Lignosulfonate has excellent chelating properties and readily solubilizes a variety of nutrients which can then be readily and rapidly absorbed by plants via leaf pores and roots. Calcium is involved in many plant metabolic processes including root/shoot development, cell wall strength, enzyme activation and neutralising acids.
Calcium Lignosulfonate is used in concrete admixtures due to its plasticizing, water reducing and low air entraining properties which improves cement workability. It is used as an additive in coal water slurry and in crude oil drilling, it works as a viscosity reducing agent, reducing the energy consumption of both processes. It is also used as a filler and binder in dye and pesticide production among many other applications.
