Grinding Aids

Grinding aids are substances that when mixed into the concrete mill decrease the average particle size. This means that the mill has to apply less grinding power without causing an adverse effect on the cement properties. They decrease concrete compaction when in storage or transit and maintain the same grinding efficiency throughout the grinding process. Without grinding aids, the grinding efficiency decreases with the accumulation of very fine particles, due to perhaps agglomeration or surface coating.
