Construction<\/strong><\/p>\n Bisley Xeolith\u00ae lithium hydroxide is used as an effective accelerator in alumina cement systems and can be used to mitigate alkali-silica reaction (ASR treatment<\/strong>) in concrete pavements and structures. It is also used in paints and coatings formulations and ceramics manufacturing.<\/p>\n Grease and Lubricants<\/strong><\/p>\n Bisley Xeolith\u00ae Lithium Hydroxide and Bisley Xeolith\u00ae Lithium Carbonate are sold to the grease sector. Lithium-based grease is a lubricant to which lithium compounds have been added. Lithium-based greases enjoy a higher melting point (dropping point) than calcium greases. Lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate is reacted with fatty acids, particularly 12-hydroxy stearic acid, to form salts that disperse into, and viscosity, oils to form stable gels.<\/p>\n Lithium grease adheres well to metal, is non-corrosive, and may be used under heavy loads. It has a drip temperature of 190\u00b0 to 220\u00b0C (350\u00b0 to 400\u00b0F) and resists moisture well.
