Clay is a rheology additive, derived from a modified phyllosilicate. In liquid and drymix materials, it enhances sag resistance, promotes thixotropy, and refines the rheological properties of the final product. Particularly effective in tile adhesives, it reduces the cellulose ether content required in formulations.<\/p>\n
Its benefits extend across various applications:<\/p>\n
A naturally derived silicate, clay is suitable for use in a wide array of products including tile adhesives, grouts, renders, repair mortars, masonry mortars, plasters, lime-based coatings, skim coats, dispersions, and Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC).<\/p>\n
Noteworthy for its ability to impart specialised properties to hydraulically hardening tile adhesives (CTAs), it not only offers cost-saving benefits but also facilitates a significant reduction in the required dosage of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC), Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC), and Hydroxyethyl Methylcellulose (HEMC) by 30% to 50% compared to the original formulation.<\/p>\n
