Brown Fused Alumina
Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) is processed from refractory bauxite and then fused at temperatures between 1750 – 1800 deg C. Bisley supplies high grade material manufactured using either static or tilt furnace technology. Qualities range from Al2O3 94%. Facilities are available to control the grain shape. For refractory applications brown fused lumps are processed through a Barmac crusher to make a blocky grain shape; alternatively, through a roller crusher for a flatter, splinter grain shape. Bisley supplies BFA to both the refractory and abrasive industries. An extensive range of sizing options is available – both in refractory splits and abrasive grits.
