Sodium Gluconate
Sodium Gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, produced by fermentation of glucose. It is a white to tan, granular to fine, crystalline powder, very soluble in water. It is non-corrosive, non-toxic and resistant to oxidation and reduction, even at high temperatures. It is readily biodegradable (98% approx after 2 days). Three packaging options are available: 25 kg bags, 800 kg bags and 1 MT bulk bags.
AGRICHEMICALS
In agrichemicals, Sodium Gluconate is used in a variety of fertiliser formulations as it enhances nutrient absorbing ability. Sodium Gluconate has excellent chelating properties and readily solubilizes a variety of nutrients such as mineral sources, phosphates, carbonates, oxalates, etc. Producing mineral gluconates that are neutral or slightly negatively charged which are readily and rapidly absorbed by plants via their leaf pores and root surfaces.
CONSTRUCTION
In construction, Sodium Gluconate is a highly efficient set retarder and a good plasticiser-extender/ water reducer for concrete, mortar and gypsum.
- Excellent chelating agent
- Highly efficient concrete set retarder
- Efficient concrete plasticiser / water reducer
- Non toxic
- Biodegradable
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Sodium Gluconate additionally has excellent chelating power, especially in alkaline and concentrated alkaline solutions. It forms stable chelates with calcium, iron, copper, aluminium and other heavy metals and related compounds. It also has properties which inhibit bitterness in foodstuffs.
PERSONAL & HOME CARE
Sodium gluconate is used in cosmetics as a chelating agent, stabilising formulations by binding metal ions that can affect product stability and efficacy while often preventing discolouration. Sodium Gluconate also functions as a humectant, which helps in retaining moisture.
