Bisley Xeolith® Lithium Silicate & Potassium Lithium Silicate

Bisley Xeolith® Lithium Silicate (LS 450) and Hybrid Potassium Lithium Silicate systems (LS 250) are used as concrete densifiers. Bisley Xeolith® Lithium Silicates are non-film forming, deeply penetrating sealers that block concrete capillaries and react with concrete to form a smooth or gloss finish.

The Xeolith® Lithium Silicate (LS450) is an aqueous polysilicate solution with a molar ratio of 4.35-5.0 that has a high concentration of lithium. The unique composition helps improve the interaction and compounding characteristics when formulating coatings, sealers and specialty treatments.

The reactive silicate forms a stable, high ratio, low viscosity solution that results in lower levels of water in coatings and can dramatically improve film formation, water resistance, abrasion, hardness and bonding properties for many applications. Once dried, the Xeolith® LS450 is relatively insoluble compared to potassium and sodium silicates.

Lithium Silicate Applications:

  • Inorganic paints, coatings and primers
  • Anti -corrosive coatings
  • Powder coatings
  • Refractories
  • Catalysts
  • Concrete Admixtures
  • Concrete surface treatments
  • Welding rod binder additives
  • Flame retardant additives
  • Ceramics, glazes and enamels

The Bisley Xeolith® Lithium Silicate LS250 is an aqueous polysilicate blend with a molar ratio of 3.8-4.0. The unique composition helps improve the interaction and compounding characteristics when formulating coatings, sealers and specialty treatments.

Due to it’s reactivity, excellent stability and low viscosity, the Bisley Xeolith® Potassium Lithium Silicate LS250 can dramatically improve film formation, water resistance, abrasion resistance, hardness and bonding properties. The Bisley Xeolith® Potassium Lithium Silicate LS250 is especially well suited to high performance zinc coatings for marine and industrial applications.
