Fibreglass Products
Bisley offers a range of Fibreglass products composed of continuous and chopped glass fibres for various industries. Fibreglass takes different forms, each designed for specific applications.
At Bisley, we offer:
- Fibreglass Chopped Strand Mats
- Fibreglass Chopper Gun Roving
- Fibreglass Woven Cloth
- Fibreglass Tape
- Fibreglass Roving for Pultrusion
Fibreglass Chopped Strand Mats:
Chopped Strand Mat (CSM), commonly known as fibreglass mat, is a type of non-woven reinforcing material. CSM is made of continuous chopped glass strands cut into specific lengths (50mm), and then bonded together in random orientations by powder or emulsion binder which is extremely soluble in Styrene.
Features and Benefits:
- Outstanding impregnation characteristics
- Minimal resin usage
- Favourable mechanical properties
- Excellent drapability
Applications:
- Compatible with epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester resins
- Ideal for hand lay-up, reinforcement, and machine FRP moulding
- Applications include components for vehicles, caravans, boat hulls, sanitary ware, anticorrosive pipes, tanks, building materials, tables, chairs, potware, and various composite FRP products
Fiberglass Chopper Gun Roving:
Fibreglass Chopper Gun Roving is highly compatible with reinforced unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester resin, and polyurethane resin materials. This roving, coated with a silane-based sizing, is a crucial component for spray-up applications. Its versatility and compatibility with mixed resin make it an essential material in the manufacturing process for achieving high-quality results in diverse applications.
Features and Benefits:
- Effective cutting ability and rigidity
- Efficient material distribution with minimal static
- Exceptional fibre deposition characteristics
- Outstanding mould flowability
- Rapid wetting of the material
Applications:
- Manufacturing of diverse products such as FRP boat hulls
- Production of safety boards
- For creating portable bathroom fixtures
- Swimming pools manufacturing
Fibreglass Woven Cloth (Glass fibre woven cloth):
Fibreglass Woven Cloth is a simple bidirectional reinforcing fabric produced from direct roving extracted from a large bushing. It is compatible with unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin, and similar materials and is widely used in hand lay-up, moulding, and mechanised production.
Features and Benefits:
- Even thickness
- High tensile strength and fast wet-out
- Good chemical resistance
- Excellent electrical insulation
Applications:
- Used in the manufacture of storage tanks
- Applied in the production of yachts and vessels
- Used in crafting automobile parts
- Suitable for creating furniture items
- Used in the manufacturing of sports goods and more
Fibreglass Tape:
Fibreglass Tape, featuring continuous strands of glass fibres, is suitable for intricate and targeted reinforcement. Used in repairing and reinforcing structures such as piping systems, automotive repairs, and construction projects, it offers flexibility and ease of application.
Features and Benefits:
- Flexible
- Easy application
Applications:
- Piping systems
- Automotive repairs
- Construction projects
Fibreglass Roving for Pultrusion:
Pultrusion is a production method where uninterrupted fibreglass reinforced polymers of consistent cross-sectional shape are fabricated. In this technique, reinforced fibres, liquid resin for pultrusion, colouring agents and other materials are typically drawn through a heated mould, resulting in the formation of FRP composite items.
Bisley offers 2 types of Fibreglass Roving for Pultrusion.
- E313P E glass direct roving for polyester pultrusion
- E313E E glass direct roving for epoxy pultrusion
Features and Benefits:
- Good mechanical properties
- Effective wet-out in resins
- Even linear density
- Uniform tension and gathering
Applications:
- FRP pultrusion molding
- Many kinds of FRP materials such as profiles, gratings, poles, cable slot FRP rebar (armature), etc
